How do you use criticker.com?

I just realized that I almost never use criticker.com in the way I initially thought I would use the site. I do not use the site to find new movies or tv series that would be worth watching. My PSI is filled with movies I have no interest in seeing even though I probably would rate them high if I ac...

Re: Predication algoritm works less good for favorite movies?

I am using the percentile system. Maybe the system need to have separate TCI for top and bottom movies only. Many of my top movies are off by 15 points (like I grade a movie 100, the system guess 85). So basically while the system is good at predicting if I find a movie good or not, it is bad at fig...

Predication algoritm works less good for favorite movies?

I have rated 1211 movies and tv-series so far, and I understand the TCI and PSI system. The site is typically very accurate and tend to predict my ratings +-5 on most cases. However, for movies/tv-series in the 90+ range the sites predictions tend to be off by a much larger number. Is this a general...

Re: How do you rate ridiculously bad movies: 0 or >0 ?

I rate movies based on how much I liked watching them, and to some degree how many times I would like watching them, not good they "technically" are or their artistic value. For instance I love Kiss-Ass, almost every scene is great, and I can watch the movie 20+ times so I rated it 98. The...

Trying to add film

I am trying to add the film "A Brilliant Young Mind" but when I tried to submit the movie including plot summary, imdb link etc it says the movie already exists.

However it does not exists since I cannot find it when I search for it in the search field.

Re: TV series

Yes being able to rank tv-shows is the feature I miss the most for Criticker. Just make it completly separe from the movie ranking but make it work in the same way.

Improve PSI calculations

I understand how PSI is currently generated but right now it is only quit good. I think by using the PSI as it is now, combined with meta-data tags about the films it could become much more accurate. Take trilogies for instance. If you give the first two films in a trilogy a tier 5 rating it is extr...

Re: Directors with Tier 10 and Tier 1 films

Peter Jackson has managed to make both the best and the worse movie I have ever seen:
Lord of the Rings (Tier 10, 100 Rating)
Bad Taste (Tier 1, 5 Rating)

Re: TCI Bug

No it is still not working. I have my films in common set to 20% (127 films) but 3 of my top 10 TCI have less films than that in common with me. Generating new TCI does not solve the problem.

Improve TCI algorithm

I think the algorithm needs to be improved. It should give greater importance to tier 10-8 movies and less to the other ones. As it is now it has the same impact on TCI if someone ranks your favourite movie as Tier 7 as if they would rank one of your Tier 5 movies as Tier 2. People probably use this...
