Re: Game of Thrones

I came to the site to update my review, but this is a good opportunity to expand on that somewhat. First off this season, and season 7 before it, are terrible. Characters (especially Jon Snow) feel safe whereas in the first few seasons some of the draw of the show was being thrilled about "goo...

Game of Thrones

So, now that HBO's most popular show ever has come to end, what are y'alls thoughts? Both of the show overall, and that -uh- *chuckles nervously* interesting final season. I have a pretty exhaustive take that I'm writing up, but before I finish it I want to see what the opinions of cinephiles and ot...

Re: I've been busy as hell and haven't watched many movies in the past few years.

Yes, The Florida Project is actually really good, it and BlacKkKlansman , are the two films of the past 5 years that have genuinely blown me away with that they've accomplished on both a narrative and aesthetic level. A couple of other recommendations would be Roma and Call me By Your Name , and Ali...

Re: Does anyone know this movie?

Haha, what a crazy random happenstance! I literally just watched Wuthering Heights a few days ago. This describes the premise of that story to a tee, although there are multiple film adaptations out there, the most famous being the 1939 William Wyler version with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon.

Re: Islamic Terrorism in Film

What's supposed to be the ideal in portraying it in film? Historically, the portrayal of Muslims in western film has been pretty one-dimensional often to the point of absurdity. I think that kind of answers the question. The political conditions that gave rise to violent extremist groups in the Mid...

Issue with TCIs on Games Section

On the Games section of the website my minimum number of games in common should be 9, however about 50% of the users shown in my top 25 TCIs have fewer than that amount. This only appears to be an issue on the Games section of the site, however, as there are no issues with the TCIs on the film side.

Re: Expired certificate

Tried it on both Firefox and Opera and I get a notification about a "expired security certificate" on both of them as well.
