Re: A Note on Hate Speech and Criticker's Abuse Policy

I actually didn't know he was banned. Kind of unwarranted, ngl. I also think it begs the question what it actually accomplishes?

Re: A Note on Hate Speech and Criticker's Abuse Policy

If the site allows us to rate and review Birth of a Nation and Triumph of the Will (and obviously it should!), there's no reason not to include a "film" by a doofus so bent on owning the libs that he'll fly all the way to Africa to interview rural tribes just to ask them about gender roles. Way too...

Re: Why Top X Lists are Doomed to Failure

For me the problem I have with lists like this is that they generally don't have a good foundation for why any placements exist, even if we assume someone has seen every film in a certain category in existence. If you're to list to me the best Lynch films; for example, what value is there in making ...

Re: A Decade of Criticker

Well, I didn't read as much of his blog as you apparently have I read maybe like 4 or 5 of his blog posts? It really isn't hard to find his political articles if you just scroll down and click the "politics" tag. The second link is amusing and quaint, since the dominant modern leftist zeitgeist is ...

Re: A Decade of Criticker

I don't really hate Pickpocket but I really don't buy the idea he was "apolitical" when he made posts like this: https://genesisofman.wordpress.com/2017/03/07/donald-trump-is-happy-that-you-think-hes-stupid/ https://genesisofman.wordpress.com/2016/11/12/we-can-kill-liberalism-once-and-for-all/ https...

Re: Games Do Not Age

Really, who? Kosmic, who used to hold the speedrun world record for both any% and all levels for SMB1, knows more about the game and mechanics than the developers themselves, and obviously has a huge soft spot for the title, recently released his tier lists for the Mario games, both for casual play...

Yeah, he def seemed to be the sort to chug down bottles of red pills. The fact he praises Dinesh D'Souza also made me chuckle.

Re: Cruella

You completely missed my own point. Namely, that literally any major development in our world, including scientific breakthroughs, can frequently be seen as nothing more than "exacerbating the issue" whose preconditions had already been established long ago. It's a semantics game, and doesn't make ...

Re: A Decade of Criticker

Pickpocket struck me as too abrasive to take seriously most of the time.

Re: Games Do Not Age

And yes, you absolutely have to take into account what era a game was released in. If you put out the equivalent of Super Mario Bros nowadays, it would be considered a very average, simplistic platformer lacking mechanics, movement options, and enemies, with some wonky physics. I don't really agree...
