Re: imdb id's

Personally, I quite like having the IMDb tag. Simply for the reason that it makes comparing/ matching data to other sources much easier than using the title of a film. Perhaps encouraging the field is filled, but having a option available if the title isn't present on IMDb is a better option than ge...

Re: Journey of an object

Should we count the Star Wars tri-trilogy. It follows a droid (R2D2) passed around over generations...from a certain point of view.

Re: Hitchcock & Scully

In that film, a certain person was mentioned, David O. Selznick. I hope you remember the name. So that guy and Hitchcock made the movie Rebecca together. Old timers... I think it would be cool to know what a movie you like was talking about. After a quick bit of googling, Selznick was also the prod...

Re: Hitchcock & Scully

I think you're approaching things in a spirit that will benefit yourself least of all Sorry, might have misrepresented myself a little there. I'm actually looking forward to watching the films. It's not that I'm sceptical that Vertigo is worth 7/10, it's that 72 corresponds to 9/10. The way I've en...

Hitchcock & Scully

In an attempt to appreciate classic cinema, I've deciced to theme this week's films as those directed by Alfred Hitchcock and one where William Scully worked as the production manager. Yes, it’s a tenuous and contrived link to make a Brooklyn Nine-Nine reference. The films, as follows: Rear Window (...

Re: Criticker ranking system has one enormous flaw

Honestly I'm okay with the way my PSI appear at the moment as they are usually within a 2 point margin. Though there are many older films/ Japanese films with quite high PSI's that I have very little interest or motivation in watching. (Yes I know I'm a philistine). Sometimes I just like playing aro...

Re: Criticker ranking system has one enormous flaw

TCI of user A and user B is over 38 Surely your assumption would mean the TCI is ~28, not 38 (or 37) as the 26 films that are rated identically contribute 26 zeros to the average. That however is nit-picking. My main point, or rather question, is whether the TCI's (in general) are mutually commutat...

Re: Iron Man (2008) vs. Star Trek (2009)

Star Trek - 90 (T10) Iron Man - 68 (T8) Given the bar set by Star Trek Nemesis, Star Trek (2009) was a refreshing change of pace and a good action film in its own right. I’m not a fan of what JJ has done to Star Wars, but I really enjoyed his take on Star Trek. The plot isn’t actually that complex, ...
