Hi Quicky,
I'm sure interested, but this week I'm out-of-touch with the i'net (travelling). I'll contact you next week to give this a try.

Re: Hey, Why Is My Suggestion Taking So Long?
Hi Quicky, Thanks for your input. That was exactly the info I was looking for. Regarding the bottle-neck, in my line of work I (also) do a lot of database and query optimization. Selects or updates of millions of records doesn't have to be a big (performance) problem. But I'm not complaining about C...

Re: Hey, Why Is My Suggestion Taking So Long?
Hi, maybe you can post some tech-specs and other info? I'm really curious about the number of users now, how many movies are rated, etc... Just some statistical stuff... Also, what kind of infrastructure do you have? E.g. where you store your information (sql-server, informix or oracle db?) Sometime...

Re: Give tier 10 films more influence over the TCI
[ In a similar mathematical situation, I have found it just slightly odd that Criticker uses tiers of 10% each. I think it would be more logical and more useful to use logarithmic scales (or actually, a bell curve: relatively few movies in your top and bottom tiers and the bulk of your movies in yo...

PSI Generation Bug?
I get recommendations for movies with a high PSI. When I go to the movie page of the suggested movie, the PSI is much lower. Example: MingusDew thinks... MingusDew is one of your top users Your TCI: 2.3392 MingusDew recommends The Day the Earth Stood Still - 91 Movie page: PSI 78 Also, I don't see M...

Re: TCI Regenerating
Now... this makes me wonder... how good are the PSI results for people with 1500 rated movies (unlike my 400)? For them 10% is 150 common movies and 50% is 750 movies, right?. How many users are there on Criticker that have 750 movies common with someone else? Don't the recommendations get worse wh...
