Re: Maurice Jarre

Of Maurice Jarre's movies, I've only seen Lawrence of Arabia, which did have a powerful score. I'm way more of a fan of his son Jean Michel ;). I already got tickets for his concert in Paris next March :P.

Re: Lament

Hmm... I've never had any complaints about this. If I had complaints about the sound, it was because of the poor surround sound or general poor audio quality.

Re: New Film List Page

One other thing: when movies are ranked by PSI, the ones which have the same score are then listed alphabetically. Was it like that before? I've always thought that somehow even movies with the same PSI was ranked, but perhaps I just never noticed that they were alphabeticized? This is a bit weird ...

Re: Store OLDEST ranking date (not the most recent)

Hmm... ok, bummer. Apparently shortly after registering with Criticker, I re-submitted all my movies, deleting the rankings first probably because I wanted to know their PSI's, since at the time I didn't yet know how to get those automatically with my code.

Re: Store OLDEST ranking date (not the most recent)

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I hadn't thought of that. But I can't imagine I actually removed so many ratings before resubmitting them. The second half of my rankings (the oldest ones) are all pretty much ordered by rating, which reflects the fact that I resubmitted them starting at the high...

+1 for: ⋅ Getting the 100-95 95-84 etc. buttons back ⋅ Getting the tier headings back ⋅ Lighten the color of the lines separating the films to their original colour ⋅ Add [x] buttons to the filters to remove a single filter. ⋅ Find a way to make nega...

Re: Flickchart Beta Invites?

In all honesty, Nathan Chase, the one who does the graphical design of flickchart has more vision when it comes to graphical design than our dear Criticker friends. The Flickchart site really looks 'cool' and I'm quite sure that attracts quite a bit of users. That said... we all know Criticker is th...

Re: Recommendations Between Movies

My only objection to this would be that already soooooooooooooooooo many movie sites do this. Criticker has a completely different stragegy and shines because of it, despite the fact that this doesn't seem to attract the mainstream audience.

Re: The Top 20 Most-Ranked Movies on Criticker

Also, keep in mind that, depending on how the algorithm is set up precisely, the movies fed to new users to rank in the "Rank More Films" part (RMF) of the website can be a great influence on the most-ranked movies top list. I assume that the movies shown on the RMF page are pulled from th...

Store OLDEST ranking date (not the most recent)

With the new film list pages, I noticed there is now the possibility to order the films by date ranked (interesting!). Unfortunately this stores the last date you ranked or reranked the film. I don't know about other people, but I think it would be more interesting to store the first time you ranked...
