Re: Do best picture and best director always go to the same
In addition to Master and Commander & 3:10 to Yuma, he was also in L.A. Confidential. I got him at an average tier of 7.9 and average ranking of 83.6 Robin Hood is the only movie i think he sucked in, and it's weighing down his averages. I'm very much looking forward to seeing him in Aronofsky's...

Re: Do best picture and best director always go to the same
Russell Crowe sucks, the CGI was garbage, Joaquin was a joke (though he's been good in other stuff, his performance in Gladiator was baaaaaad) and the writing was painful....one eye rolling moment after another. Just an opinion, and example of how awards shows consistently reward stuff that doesn't...

Re: More Star Wars Films
I think that Abrams is an excellent choice for the new films.
Abrams successfully re-invented Star Trek, and it's rich with both story and action.
I think Abrams will do a terrific job with the Star Wars films.

Re: 2500 ratings, woop woop!
^Damn, i can't even imagine watching ~6,000 movies
At the rate I'm watching now, it'll take me 45 more years.
I watch ~100 new movies/year.
If i stopped re-watching favorites, i'd be able to double that.

2013 looks like the year of Summer Blockbusters, lots of good comic book movies and what-not.

Re: Lincoln
James Spader was getting pudgy midway through Boston Legal's run. Fans of his should check the show out. Good call! I started watching this recently based on your comment and i really do like Spader and Shatner. I'm up to the beginning of Season 3, and while I'm not a fan of the revolving door or c...

Re: "Life of Pi"
personally would love there to be a God and a happy-ever-after ending to life. i think it's a beautiful romantic theory. I personally subscribe to the reincarnation fantasy. However, I don't find the topic(s) very realistic and the fact that there is no hard evidence makes it impractical to even de...

Re: Megaupload is BACK!
Yep, been following kim dotcom for a while and glad he was able to survive the storm. However, i don't know how much megaupload is needed anymore. I used it primarily to share small files (individual music files) or small zip files (size of a CD). All under 1GB. I don't recall a size limit, but do r...
