Re: A Decade of Criticker
It's very clearly anti-lefitst, regardless of any distinctions you can make with left-wing politics. You can't post something like this: https://genesisofman.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/capture15.png and act like you're apolitical. Out of curiosity, are you a hardcore leftist? This is an incredibly...

Re: A Decade of Criticker
I don't really hate Pickpocket but I really don't buy the idea he was "apolitical" when he made posts like this: https://genesisofman.wordpress.com/2017/03/07/donald-trump-is-happy-that-you-think-hes-stupid/ https://genesisofman.wordpress.com/2016/11/12/we-can-kill-liberalism-once-and-for-all/ http...

Re: A Decade of Criticker
this would probably hold more weight if the phrase "Ben Shapiro sums it up better than I ever could" wasn't sitting right there on his profile page. Ah, I see. The Suffragette review. In his defense, liking someone's review of a movie is very different than following or being a fan of them. This ve...

Re: A Decade of Criticker
Major incel elliot vibes If you're referring to me, I've been with the same woman for 9 years, have one child, and a second arriving soon. I also don't know how a post that mentions neither women nor dating (which are fundamental to the definition), but rather, a problem with modern men, can give "...

Re: A Decade of Criticker
This is so funny. It's the equivalent of some provincial redneck from a few decades ago imagining that city folk who listen to rock n' roll must be devil worshippers. I can't really make heads or tails of this bizarre straw man argument, nor can I be bothered to, just thought I'd drop by to point o...

Re: A Decade of Criticker
He was quite the earnest little film fan at first but you can see a distinct shift in the tone and content of his reviews after he started reading pick-up artist stuff A lot of men, as they grow up, realize there is something indelibly effeminate and limp-wristed about modern society compared to ol...

Re: Games Do Not Age
I'll reply to certain points specifically, but I just want to note what is actually being argued, as you're mostly responding to a strawman. No one is claiming that great games of the past suddenly become awful or unplayable at some future date. However, do great games become less exciting, immersiv...

Re: A Decade of Criticker
Yeah I miss Shogun Rua and Pickpocket who left after the tightening of the house rules. You'll be delighted to know that I am now back, although you misinterpreted why I left in the first place. Alas, Pickpocket, at the time the #1 starred reviewer on here, was too good and pure for this website.

Re: Games Do Not Age
And yes, you absolutely have to take into account what era a game was released in. If you put out the equivalent of Super Mario Bros nowadays, it would be considered a very average, simplistic platformer lacking mechanics, movement options, and enemies, with some wonky physics. I don't really agree...

Re: Most over-rated/under-rated filmmakers on criticker?
Say what you will about Tim Burton's post-1995 career, but he made some damn good films before that, and Ed Wood is borderline great. Which, at the very least, puts him well ahead of Aronofsky. Forget being one of the greatest ever; I don't even believe he qualifies as "good". His three most famous ...
