Re: The ten lowest-scoring actors

Checked my list and found it was pretty much not very interesting - 6 of my bottom 8 are the supporting cast of the Twilight-series. Most of the others also have terrible franchises account for most of my rankings. So none are big surprises.

From worst to "best":

1. Taylor Lautner (3.57, 7(!) rankings) (Twilight)
2. Nikki Reed (6.25, 4) (Twilight)
3. Jackson Rathbone (6.25, 4) (Twilight)
4. Peter Facinelli (6.25, 4) (Twilight)
5. Billy Burke (8.33, 6) (Twilight)
6. Jerry O'Connell (10, 5)
7. Kellan Lutz (10, 5) (Twilight)
8. Betsy Russell (12.5, 4) (Saw)
9. Lambert Wilson (12.5, 4)
10. Michael Winslow (15.63, 8) (Police Academy)

I actually "like" my #6, Jerry O'Connell. I think he's pretty terrible and every film I've seen him in is awful, but I still like him for some reason.

I, again, made some changes to my list.

Old list:
10. Sally Field (5 films): Say It Isn't So (37), Mrs. Doubtfire (15), Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco (10)
9. Rene Auberjonois (4 films): Batman Forever (45), The Little Mermaid (41), Inspector Gadget (13)
8. Amanda Detmer (4 films): Big Fat Liar (27), Final Destination (18)
7. Rita Wilson (4 films): Psycho (49), Jingle All the Way (30), Sleepless in Seattle (28)
6. Diane Lane (4 films): Jack (23), Judge Dredd (19)
5. Andy Dick (4 films): The Cable Guy (46), Dude, Where's My Car (25), Inspector Gadget (13)
4. Kathy Moriarty (4 films): Kindergarten Cop (49), Casper (44), Another Stakeout (35), The Bounty Hunter (21)
3. Christine Baranski (4 films): How the Grinch Stole Christmas (47), The Bounty Hunter (21), Mamma Mia! (16)
2. Marguerite Moreau (4 films): D2: The Mighty Ducks (35), Queen of the Damned (26), D3: The Mighty Ducks (21)
1. Olympia Dukakis (4 films): Mr. Holland's Opus (35), Look Who's Talking Too (34), Look Who's Talking Now (17)

New list:
10. Jennifer Coolidge (4 films, 42), Low Film: Click
9. Sally Field (5 films, 41.8), Forrest Gump is ranked high, Homeward Bound is not.
7. TIED Amanda Detmer (4 films, 41.25) see above
7. TIED Rene Auberjonois (4 films, 41.25) see above
6. Rita Wilson (4 films, 41) see above
5. Diane Lane (4 films, 40) see above
4-1. Same as above

But, wait, martryn, where the fuck did Andy Dick get off to? Well, I unranked a film that I wanted to watch again before I passed judgment on it. I don't remember what film it is, now. His average ranking is only 28, though, with the three films above. That would place him in the #1 spot, so don't fret.

Michael Shannon makes my list courtesy of appearing in the worst film of all time: Kangaroo Jack.

Liza Minnelli 47.50 4
Marlon Wayans 42.00 4
Kim Cattrall 38.00 4
Bob Goldthwait 37.50 4
Anna Faris 37.50 4
Steve Guttenberg 36.67 6
Michael Winslow 35.33 6
Leslie Easterbrook 33.00 4
David Graf 32.40 5
Bubba Smith 32.40 5

Liza Minnelli was a bit of a surprise because I hadn't considered her bad in any way...but appearance in Sex and the City 2 is damnable. Otherwise it's mainly Police Academy alumni.

I think it makes more sense to use a 10 film minimum, just like the highest-scoring actors thread.

Here's mine:

Stanley Tucci 4.57 14
Jamie Foxx 4.55 11
Ray Winstone 4.55 11
Harvey Keitel 4.54 13
Anthony Hopkins 4.38 16
Dwayne Johnson 4.36 11
George Clooney 4.32 19
Robert Downey Jr. 4.31 13
Paul Bettany 4.30 10
Thomas Kretschmann 4.27 11
Keith David 4.25 12
Mark Strong 4.23 13
Kurt Russell 4.20 10
Michael Gambon 4.13 15
Richard Jenkins 4.11 19
Jason Flemyng 3.80 10
Bill Murray 2.71 14

I don't think any of these actors is downright horrible, they just end up being cast in projects that fundamentally do not interest me. Films like Welcome to the Punch (Mark Strong, Jason Flemyng), Lost in Translation/St.Vincent/Zombieland/Miscellaneous Wes Anderson projects (Bill Murray)

Surprised to see Dwayne Johnson, one of my top 5 favorite currently active actors, on this list.

I can't believe Bill Murray is ranked at the bottom of anyone's list. He's my #2 actor in that other thread.

Going off a 10 film minimum this time, since I do agree with nauru on that, and probably only that.

10. Gerard Butler 55, (10 films)
Butler is divided into pre and post 300. Anything he made prior to 300 was awful, and he's made some bombs since.

9. Sylvester Stallone 54.85, (13 films)
I actually really like the Expendables films, and I've never seen any of the Rocky movies, so this is largely due to his string of really, really shitty action films from the 90's.

8. John Travolta 54.81, (21 films)
Pulp Fiction is a lone standout. As with my 4 film minimum directors, Look Who's Talking can ruin rankings, and it doesn't help that Travolta has been in a bunch of shit films.

7. Eddie Murphy 54.69, (13 films)
Even his decent films are mediocre. And his shit comedies are shit.

6. Danny Trejo 54.64, (11 films)
His best film was Machete. He ends up playing the bad guy in shit tier films.

5. Frank Welker 53.78, (27 films)
He's a voice actor. I don't know him.

4. Oliver Platt 52.4, (10 films)
That guy that's always plays the unsuspecting co-worker who is unessential to the plot in a bunch of bad films.

3. Janeane Garofalo 52.36, (11 films)
Shit tier comedy actress.

2. Adam Sandler 50.66, (13 films)
He made two or three decent comedies, and then started churning out a bunch of shit films. Even his serious attempts at movies, like his pseudo-dramas, are shit. Adam Sandler attempted, and failed, to do what I call "The Jim Carrey".

1. Rob Schneider 46.15, (13 films)
The only actor with a career that's helped by appearing in an Adam Sandler movie. He cannot carry a film on his own, but he attempts it anyways.
