I'm a young movi fan, but from what I've seen now that's it. I love Kubrick, but I hate 2 of his movies so he's not there

If those two movies are 2001 and Eyes Wide Shut, then I definitely like you.

I keep updating because I think it's interesting. I'm sorry I have so many posts in this thread.

10. Quentin Tarantino (8 films) 83.63
High film - Pulp Fiction (93)
Low film - Four Rooms (69)

9. Stanley Kubrick (6 films) 83.83
High film - Paths of Glory (91)
Low film - Eyes Wide Shut (73)

TIED 7. Danny Boyle (4 films) 84
High film - Trainspotting (89)
Low film - 28 Days Later (81)

TIED 7. Coen brothers (9 films) 84
High film - Fargo and The Big Lebowski (90's)
Low film - Burn After Reading (79)

TIED 5. Milos Forman (4 films) 84.25
High film - Amadeus (94) one of my top 10 films of all time
Low film - The People vs. Larry Flynt (72)

TIED 5. Darren Aronofsky (4 films) 84.25
High film - Black Swan (95) one of my top 10 films of all time
Low film - Pi (79)

NEW! 4. Wes Anderson (4 films) 84.75
High film - Moonrise Kingdom (91)
Low film - Fantastic Mr. Fox (79)

3. Hayao Miyazaki (7 films) 87
High film - Princess Mononoke (94) one of my top 10 films of all time
Low film - Ponyo (79)

2. Christopher Nolan (7 films) 87.57
High film - Inception (93)
Low film - Insomnia (76)

1. Sergio Leone (4 films) 88
High films - A Fistful of Dollars and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (92's)
Low film - My Name is Nobody (79)

I finally ranked Moonrise Kingdom, my 4th Wes Anderson film. That puts him eligible to make my list with a four film minimum, and he bumps off Peter Jackson, who is sitting lower than he should because I'm a huge fan of his Tolkien adaptations, and I haven't ranked the last Hobbit film yet (too soon since seeing it).

83.89 stanley kubrick (9)
83.50 federico fellini (4)
83.25 roman polanski (4)
81.67 david cronenberg (3)
81.67 sidney lumet (3)
81.60 david lynch (5)
80.00 kyrzysztof kieslowski (3)

another (nearly) 3 months and this time somewhere in the range of 320 films later (!) it's changed a lot again:

83.81 ingmar bergman (16)
83.00 robert altman (3)
82.50 francis ford coppola (4)
81.25 lars von trier (16)
80.00 sidney lumet (3)
79.00 terrence malick (5)
78.33 errol morris (3)
78.25 stanley kubrick (12)
77.40 andrei tarkovsky (5)
77.30 werner herzog (10)

but i can do a minimum of 5 now:

83.81 ingmar bergman (16)
81.25 lars von trier (16)
79.00 terrence malick (5)
78.25 stanley kubrick (12)
77.40 andrei tarkovsky (5)
77.30 werner herzog (10)
77.00 akira kurosawa (8)
75.00 abbas kiarostami (8)
74.86 federico fellini (7)
73.20 ethan & joel coen (10)

this is very similar to my personal list of top ten directors, but i'd substitute tarkovsky & fellini for lynch & polanski.

Not going to repost my list, but Tarantino did jump to 4th overall after I ranked Django, and the Coen brothers have climbed to 6th overall after I adjusted some scores. I did just see their newest film a few weeks ago, and it made a pretty big impression on me, so I think that should bump them into the top 5.

Top 10, minimum four films (I could probably have gone for five films but I like Demy on the top)

Jacques Demy 83.00 4
Emeric Pressburger 80.20 5
Billy Wilder 80.00 10
Paul Verhoeven 80.00 5
Henri-Georges Clouzot 80.00 4
Preston Sturges 77.00 4
Peter Greenaway 77.00 4
Michael Powell 76.14 7
Ingmar Bergman 75.75 8
Joseph L. Mankiewicz 75.60 5

Powell falls behind his buddy Pressburger because I didn't particularly care for Thief of Bagdad (Peeping Tom was fine).

And while I consider myself mostly Classic Hollywood fan, most of the top directors are not from there...

Yep, list didn't really change at all. No one new on it, just a bit of a mix-up in the order because of my minor tweaks, and the fact that some of these guys with 4 films are one mediocre film away from falling off my list. If we went up to a 5 film minimum, which I'm seeing from some in this thread, we'd add Scorsese, Peter Jackson, Guy Ritchie, and David Fincher to the list.
