I'm trying to find a movie I saw on VHS in the 90s. I swear it was called The Cat but I searched and can't find it. It may have been a western, all I really remember is a scene where a boy is out in the woods and witnesses a murder, one man kills another by smashing his head with a rock. Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks.

The only thing that rings a bell is "The ballad of Cat Ballou" with Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin. It's a western comedy, but with some darker themes.

The scene with the head bashing I can't recall. But I saw the movie in the 80's...
