Classic (50s/60s?) detective anthology film

Hi everyone - my first post, trying to help a friend.
He remembers watching a movie in the 60s- not sure if it’s black and white or that was just his tv.
It was a crime anthology, he thinks that the police/detective investigated 4 cases- all Murder, he thinks. In each case he arrested an innocent person and the criminal walked feee.
In one of the cases, serial murder had taken place, and a woman had trained spiders to kill. Her husband was arrested (unsure if she framed him on purpose), and she reclined on her bed as large spiders traversed the ceiling.
If this rings a bell with anyone, I’d really appreciate any information. I’ve been searching the internet with a variety of terms, and am now turning to forums and groups. My friend is particularly unwell, so I’d like to help him out.
