The ship gets stuck in the ice and the crew attempts to pull the ship (with ropes) overland through the snow/ice. The captain is not well liked and single minded? Eventually some kind of mutiny?

I watched this movie as a kid in the late 70’s or possibly very early 80’s on TV.

Thanks for the suggestion but that’s not it. It was a color movie and fairly “dark” as I recall.
