2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

This is in no way a review of Stanley Kubrick's movie, let alone a "full" review. But I wanted to make a place to record a list of films that to me seem to consciously follow 2001's famous tripartite structure: (1) the prehistoric origin, miraculously giving birth to technics, but where this is also the beginning of war; (2) the sublimation of the drive to war via the progressive development of technics, but leading reason to become rationalisation, or, in other words, leading efficient causality to dominate at the expense of, especially, final causality; (3) the encounter with limits, leading to the necessity of a leap and rebirth, generating a new task or mission.

I may fill in some more detail later about how I see the connection between the above films and Kubrick's film, or add more movies if and when I think of them.
