there´s actually a site that has an amazing design / layout but... doenst have a good community like critiker. i think community its more important, we cant have it all. BUT, its a nice place to take some ideas =) : https://www.tviso.com . the feed is nice, and the movies profile is also nice ( https://www.tviso.com/media/movie/1765265/it ) just ignore the user profile that is a mess...

i love how criticker looks. i think sites like letterboxd are ghastly.

a dark mode would be nice. winter is coming.

LB turns me off when it comes to design.
and also some of the community, but that´s other issue.
i don´t dislike critiker design, it just feels a bit outdated, that´s all =)

it's like an old t-shirt, i think.
but it's roomy and the label doesn't scratch your nape so you wear it while watching movies.
it's what your girlfriend reaches for on a nippy spring morning when she goes to make a cup on waking.

2.0 is usually a cheap, shiny suit. maybe new things just can't be warm for me. like the old japanese women saying, yes, it's a very nice temple you've constructed, but it won't look beautiful for at least another 200 years.

i guess it felt more like i was a cheesy ad man. *ice clinks boisterously in a glass tumbler, like if shamu had been frozen solid and then hurled about in her pen by the seismic waves of an errant earthquake*

i keep disagreeing with you. say something agreeable so that i don't feel so argumentative

We all need people that disagrees with us. Arguments are always positive to the growth of our mind.

Just realized that philosophers are/ can be bonafide cheesy ad mans.

But i still think CR needs a design change. we can disagree there. you don´t think it needed a single change ?

it doesn't really feel like my place to think too hard about this. :D

for me, the DIY aesthetic is cooler than something self-consciously slick or elegant. they've prioritised the function, and I like that new users perhaps embrace that. i like that they're not in any hurry to make drastic changes, but i understand changes could be a net win. que sera, sera

design will NEVER be more important than content. But i do think it´s important to find the right balance between eye candy and brains. ( yes, i used a Woman analogy, sorry ) .

But it´s true that i think to much. in general.
