incorrect TCI

Post by andr »

I have the #1 TCI in my list, which is very low:
#1 2.5769 sandip_0100 (-) 156 titles in common
in fact my TCI #2 is 19.3984.

I believe this #1 TCI = 2.5769 is incorrect, because user sandip_0100 has very different ratings from mine:

10 or less: you totally agree
50 or more: you totally don't
169 total films in common

The numbers (10 and 50) you quoted don't say that the user has "very different ratings from" yours.
It doesn't mean there are 50 FILMS where you "totally don't agree".
It means you "totally don't agree" on films WHERE your percentiles differ by 50 or more!
You see these values (10 and 50) for every user.
And every user sees these values. They are hardcoded.

@mpowell: BTW, case in point, can a user X see the "films in common" box for a user Y and a user Z somewhere ?

Hi Andr,

There was indeed a problem with that particular user, and it's now been corrected! Things should be looking better for you -- thanks for pointing it out :)

No, if you're not one of the users in question, that info is not visible to you.

What I meant:

There are 3 users: X, Y, Z

Can X see the films in common between Y and Z ?

That's what I meant. If you're not Y or Z, you can't see the films in common between them.

thank you. Personally I have never needed it myself.
But I've VERY OFTEN read forum postings or bug reports where it would have been necessary to see what the user sees to explain/comment/give advice/etc.

I have a similar problem with user kaiowas, who has a TCI of 3.00 and is first in my list. Apart from one movie, which has a difference of 3, non of his differences are shown and therefore only this one value is taken into account.
