I like to think of Stewball as a kindly, slightly crazy uncle.

That definitely fits.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, all this talk of Love Exposure has gotten me so curious that it's on its way to my mailbox now. I'm certainly no authority on romantic comedies, but I would submit Forgetting Sarah Marshall and High Fidelity as some of the better ones from this millennium (actually, High Fidelity is from 2000 which was the last millennium, but oh well).
Stewball...just give Love Exposure a try. It's exceedingly odd, but the less you know about it beforehand the better. Surely you've wasted many hours on films you ended up hating....what's 4 more? You might totally dig it.

Throw "savant" and "different drummer" in there somewhere and I'm on board.

Odd is good. Weird is probably good. But 4 hours of Porky's Peephole would have me regressing to some sort of pre-natal condition. I've been burned a couple of time recently on recommendations so I'm gonna need something more. Sorry.

Your loss. The upskirt photography is a relatively minor element of the film, especially based on its screen time, and is purely comedic and non-sexual.

OK, I did something nobody has suggested yet, watch the trailer, and I may have to give it a shot, somehow (not paying $30 for something I may hate--need to rent it somehow).
