21st Century Actor/Actress: Top ten rated

Post by metalhank »

There are now some pretty entertaining performers from this century. :D
This is the criteria I used:

1. Feature film debut in year 2000 or more recent
2. Have currently rated 5 or more titles they are in

Martin Freeman 76.80 average rating/5 films - favorite movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Idris Elba 71.60/5 - Thor: The Dark World
Jamie Bell 70.86/7 - Snowpiercer
Kerry Washington 70.40/5 - Django Unchained
Michelle Rodriguez 69.00/6 - Resident Evil
Michael Pitt 66.67/6 - The Dreamers
Dominic Cooper 66.40/5 - The Escapist
Chris Evans 66.11/9 - Snowpiercer
Jay Hernandez 65.80/5 - Hostel
Zack Galifianakis 62.40/5 - Muppets Most Wanted

I do consider most of these quite good actors, and then some happen to be on films I enjoyed.
Cheers

Nice one!!

Following your criteria:

1. Tarane Alidoosti.... 81.80 / 5 - About Elly
2. Gabriel Spahiu...... 77.8 / 5 - Scarred Hearts
3. Vlad Ivanov......... 71.6 / 5 - 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
4. Fabrizio Rongione.. 71.4 / 5 - Two Days, One Night*
5. Macon Blair.......... 67.2 / 5 - Green Room
6. Greta Gerwig....... 65.17 / 6 - Nights and Weekends
7. Mark Duplass........ 64.63 / 8 - Zero Dark Thirty? Blue Jay?
8. Dana Ivgy............. 63.6 / 5 - Zero Motivation
9. Kent Osborne........ 63.17 / 6 - Nights and Weekends
10. Joe Swanberg....... 57.9 / 10 - Nights and Weekends

* I admit to cheating with Rongione, his feature debute was Rosetta in 1999, but going with international release it was probably 2000 anyway.

Catalina Sandino Moreno 76.00/5 - Che
Tom Hiddleston 75.71/7 - The Deep Blue Sea
Amy Seimetz 75.00/8 - Upstream Color
Collette Wolfe 73.57/7 - Young Adult
Shea Whigham 73.13/8 - All the Real Girls
Matt Bomer 73.00/5 - Magic Mike
Joe Lo Truglio 72.86/7 - Wet Hot American Summer
Adam Driver 72.78/9 - Paterson
Miles Teller 72.00/5 - Rabbit Hole
Channing Tatum 71.32/19 - Magic Mike

At least a few (Seimetz, Driver, Teller) would probably make a preferential list with the same criteria. Trugliololololo.

Several cast members from The Wire and Friday Night Lights would have made it had I included TV.

I think my only one is Carey Mulligan 71/5

Paddy Considine's is impressive with 70/10, but room for romeo brass came out it '99

Paul Dano and Jason Schwartzman are just shy of 70.

ignoring the rules, i like Kelly Macdonald and Olivier Gourmet of the newer generation. Who else?

Agnes Bruckner would be my real number one. But she's made two good films (Blue Car, The Woods), a mediocre one (Dreamland), and stacks of crap.

Those first two, tho'. Her work in Blue Car is staggering. As powerful a performance by a teenager as I know.

Hot dangs Kate Lyn Sheil is actually my number one! 76.43 from 7!

Thought I double-checked my faves. I must marathon this weekend in penance

Green/The Sacrament/Kate Plays Christine/Sun Don't Shine/The Unspeakable Act/?/?/???

Those last two, overoverdue. Fuck I'm excited now. Might call in sick tomorrow. Think I got me a case of the KLS

Don't think there is quite the sorting you would like, if you don't know, you can select the number of films and then sort by average score, then click on the actor you think would qualify and see their movie list.

Now with 1527 movies rated
Zoe Saldana..........80.00/6 - Star Trek Into Darkness
Jennifer Lawrence..79.40/5 - X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Luke Evans...........77.40/5 - Immortals
Michael Fassbender.77.00/6 - X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Sharlto Copley.......76.00/5 - Chappie
Chris Hemsworth....75.33/6 - Thor: The Dark World
Eva Green............74.80/5 - The Dreamers
Idris Elba.............74.57/7 - Thor: The Dark World
Martin Freeman.....74.33/6 - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
James Franco........73.71/7 - Spider-Man 2

This list has become much better now (only 2 left from earlier), I would consider most of these actors some of the best I enjoy watching.
