Login problems for new users

Post by RipeMelon »

Hey,

I just made an account and had trouble posting to forums.
I logged in at front page and everything was fine, but when I moved to forums it showed this in upper right corner:

This was even there when I wasn't logged in!

Only way was to use Chromes Incognito mode, go to forum page 'log out' and then log in again

Hmm... thanks for reporting this! That's really odd.

We'll try and reproduce the issue, so that we can get it fixed up!

This is not just for new users. I have faced this occasionally - viewtopic.php?t=7669

Even now it happens once in a while - say once in 2-3 months.

It might just be that the session has expired, if it only happens every couple weeks. But it's not the best behavior -- we should definitely be redirecting back to the signin page once a session expires.

Anyway, we'll be taking a look soon :) Thanks for the additional information!

I didn't check but it seems its a cookie think. Maybe new visitor gets an empty cookie signed to it

Thank you. Also, if this gets redirected to login page, then post login, it should take you back to the page from which you came. I think, this doesn't happen.
