As for the image in question with its technicolor glory and matte painting, it's giving me 30s Robin Hood vibes, but unlike Mr. Hood, I feel I'm off the mark.

Nope, not Robin Hood though I found your approach here interesting. I'm tempted to say that there is a slight link to Robin Hood and this movie but doing so would likely give people the wrong impression so I won't.... Except I just did

History of the World Part 1. I actually immediately thought of Robin Hood Men in Tights for the first image, but I couldn't make the leap to this for some reason...

I can't pretend I'm not terrified about what Part 2 will bring us ... has anything with a comparable history ever lived up to expectations? I mean I liked and had fun with Coming 2 America but it seems like I'm the only one in that respect. Let's hope at least they give us Jews in Space as promised!
