Has me thinking Ravenous (1999), but I don't remeber any scenes with natives.

No, sorry. You're off by almost 4 decades. The lead actor is in both pic 1 (in old person prosthetics and makeup) and 2 (from behind). I kind of thought it would have been guessed fairly quickly off the first pic since it does come up as one of the first pics if you Google search the name of the movie. Also the movie is partly famous for that scene.
