The game is mostly just gimmicks but they're fun gimmicks despite being mechanically shallow. The gun play in this game is basic and uninteresting, the level design is mostly forgettable as is the plot.. but the gadgets are really cool! Plus the game does a damn good job of making you feel like James Bond.

This and From Russia With Love (which share an engine) are probably the best Bond games not called GoldenEye. With Pierce Brosnan and other actual voices from the film and tons of internal callbacks to Bond lore and classic villains and such, this is definitely one for the Bond fans, and the simple but fun third person shooter gameplay is amusing too. It's also in fact the very last story ever told in the "Bond Prime" universe before the Casino Royale reboot.

While I do appreciate the steep difficultly curve, this game is not as solid as it needs to be. It feels like the mechanics are mostly right but it is too long, has too many mechanics, and the story isn't all that interesting, even for Bond.
