Not an easy shooter by any means, but easily one of the most appealing and lasting of its era, just brimming with creativity. The crisply iconic sights and sounds of Namco's early 80s output really stood out above the rest, and the clever patterns build on the progress made in Galaxian. And there's always something to be said for the strategic gamble in giving up a life for a chance at twice the firepower (and twice the chance of getting hit).

When you're on your last quarter and accidentally shoot your captured fighter. Ugggggh.

The spot where I got my haircut from the ages of like 4-9 had a free arcade machine in the back. Good times.

Ok game..I remember playing this for Atari..Again no ending till you glitch a high millions score.

If I could own 5 arcade machines, this would be one of them. My father is a fucking pro at Galaga.

One of my favorites of the gaming Gods sitting on the old arcade Olympus. It retains that deceptive kind of gaming simplicity that breeds strategy out of necessity - perfect for both arcades, and for blowing through your allowance.
