Re: Four New Enhancements at Criticker

Being able to see more than 10 titles/rankings in a user profile is a very welcome addition, thanks!

Can't add titles to Remembered List

Howdy! I've noticed a problem with adding a film title to my Remembered Films list in the last week or so. When I'm on the page of a specific movie and press 'remember', the page reloads but nothing changes. I thought it might've something to do with my large amount of remembered titles, but someone...

Re: The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

the film makes the mistake of looking too far ahead in its franchise than focusing on itself. I completely agree! While the first Avengers had its place in finally getting the pieces together for larger scale threats and fun banter between the characters, this second one kinda... did the same thing...

Re: Canvassing opinions on TV series

Nice. Every Black Mirror episode has its own unique feel and setting, and the quality (in my opinion) remains pretty constant. I recently watched the Black Mirror Christmas Special and it's just as deliciously misanthropic as the rest. In a perfect world this show would have seasons of more than 3 e...

Re: Impersonation / False Identity

2014's 'Enemy' fits the bill perfectly, though there's a lot of symbolic whatchamacallit going on. And slightly similar but also not; Dead Ringers has a few moments where twin brothers assume the others' identity.

Re: Favorite Mini-Reviews

I guess I tend more towards starring reviews that get a good laugh out of me or reference the private life of the reviewer in some way than the ones that are informative. In any case, I enjoy following 'the works' of Paxton, Davidblast, Kojiless, Spleen, Carpetgiant, KasperL and Cinema_Asia and a bu...

Re: Canvassing opinions on TV series

Ha, even crazier! Thanks for the tip, curious which other details I'll catch on a rewatch that I totally missed before.

Re: Canvassing opinions on TV series

I'm ridiculously late to the party but I finally finished my first viewing of 4 seasons Arrested Development. It took a few episodes way back in season 1 to get over the use of the narrator, basic-looking setups for hijinks and the cheesy music, but it quickly started gaining momentum and turned int...

Re: Best horror movies 2007–2013

I found Secuestrados (2010) to be intense as hell, even though it's pretty straightforward home invasion stuff. But using long takes gives the whole thing an uncomfortable edge, making sure the viewer feels as trapped in the moment as the characters do. Add a gutpunch of an ending and you have a pre...
