Re: Favorite Mini-Reviews
Blue Velvet David Lynch offsets the idyllic appearance of his multi-faceted miniature world with perverse, twisted, nightmarish happenings throughout his masterful Blue Velvet, revealing to audience and Kyle MacLachlan a seedy underbelly of so much infectious deprivation, vicious criminality and utt...

100 - 85: Yeah 84 - 70: Yep 69 - 50: Hmm 49 - 0: Nope This is a pretty accurate description of my "rating" <-> "attitude towards film" relationship as well. I've been trying to figure out where my "thumbs up" / "thumbs down" threshold lies in terms of my Crit...

Re: "Queen of the Lot" and Criticker: An Investigative Report
Have you considered the possiblity that Queen of the Lot (2010, Jaglom) is nothing short of the Citizen Kane of our generation? I submit to you that it's the IMDb page for Queen of the Lot (2010, Jaglom) that's been the victim of a vicious smear job, while the Criticker page reflects objective reali...

Re: When Criticker guesses wrong
Béla Tarr is the big one for me. Criticker predicted 90 (tier 9) for Damnation, but I actually gave it 60 (tier 3). Even worse, the PSI for Werckmeister Harmonies was 99 (tier 10, obviously), but I gave it 55 (tier 2).

Re: Size of the mini-review box
While writing a mini-review you can expand the box by dragging down the bottom-right corner, but that might just be a specific browser thing (Chrome). You can do that in Chrome and Safari, and there's a plugin for it for Firefox. I don't believe it's possible at all in Internet Explorer or Opera. I...

Re: Another possibility for ordering reviews
Yes, it does do that, and it seems like a reasonable way to do it. My bad. While we're on this subject, would it be possible for the site to show you the dates of your own reviews as well? Right below your mini review on the film page could be a good spot for it. By the way, if you change a mini rev...

Re: Another possibility for ordering reviews
Nice feature, but could you include the year in the review date somehow? I get that there isn't much space, but maybe you could at least have the year as a tooltip if you hover over the date? Another place where having the year as part of a date would be nice is in the message box on the profile page.

Malware warning on Criticker blog
Google Chrome just gave me a "malware warning" when I went to the Criticker blog. It says "rpc.blogrolling.com" is the source of the malware. I know Google have been known to hand out some false malware positives in the past, but you might want to look into it.

Re: How often do you write Mini-Reviews?
I decided early on to write a mini review for 100% of the films I've ranked, and I believe I've done so. Which frankly turned out to be a pretty dumb idea, since my mini reviews of films I haven't seen since I was a kid tend not to be very interesting, accurate or meaningful.
