I'm not too mad about Kubrick, but I have enjoyed plenty of his films. It seems to me, however, that as he went on, he really lost a lot of his steam.
Very good sense of atmosphere if anything. I just don't feel that he's the incredible man people seem to think he is.

I have to admit that I am one of the people that did not enjoy this film. There was a time when it seemed that Cruise would go on to be a great actor (A Few Good Men), but he took the route to super-stardom instead. He's done some decent work recently (The Last Samurai comes to mind), but it looks like he may in fact be heading downward again. Hopefully his role as an ant...
