Re: Eyes Wide Shut
I do believe that Tom Cruise was fantastic in 'Eyes Wide Shut' (everywhere else I've seen him he was just OK, though), and so was the film which is far more insightful and significant than our new friendly member ShogunRua would like you to believe. Dude, it wasn't that deep. Did I miss something? ...

Re: Transporter 2
Radiocalhank's movie reviews are absolutely hilarious. He's cool in my book, even if he's too stupid to grasp the epic magnificence, majesty, and timeless grandeur of Transporter 2, haha. Transporter 2 was good and fun. But I lower film rankings as time progresses (or at least I do for music, cartoo...

Re: Transporter 2
Justifying an esoteric pleasure smacks of insecurity. Not at all. Not only is there nothing insecure about writing a detailed review, but I would hope that that would be considered the norm here, no? It's also best advised not to anally rape the integrity of a widely revered director. Metaphorical ...

Re: Transporter 2
Yeah, we could at least be talking about a good (er, "good") mindless action flick, like.. Oh, I dunno.. Transporter 1. I can frankly not see anything that's more entertaining about the 2nd film (but many things that are less), and when they're both basically the same, it doesn't even mak...

Transporter 2
Okay, so in a topic about "Eyes Wide Shut", someone called me out for really liking Transporter 2. While that shows a crippling inability to stick to the subject of a thread, I figured I might as well make a thread devoted specifically to this action vehicle. Now, there are two types of mo...

Re: Goriest/most violent movies you've seen (not work-safe)
Strangely enough, never heard of Cannibal Ferox before. Good call. Anyways, I would split up my list into two categories; Gory/violent on the horror side of things; Cannibal Holocaust Imprint Men Behind the Sun The Untold Story Gory/violent on the action side of things; Ichi the Killer Miike's Dead ...

Re: Terminator 2
I must be one of the very few people on the planet who firmly believes that the original Terminator is better than T2, heh. Both were excellent, but I'll take the revolutionary original, that altered an entire genre, over its very strong follow-up.

Re: Eyes Wide Shut
I thought it was garbage. Masturbatory nonsense. The result of a senile director buying into his own hype way too much. I think Kubrick is overrated as hell, but I never got the cult following for this film especially. It's not particularly deep, unexpected, nor original. The morale, "sex is ba...
