Thriller on TV in 90s.
I saw this movie on TV in the 1990s. A guy at work pursues a red-head (she asks him aren't you married, but he lies and says that's an "ugly rumour"). His job involves couriering the companies' money. He asks his gf to start swiping large envelopes/pouches. One day with a stopwatch he times how long it takes the lift to take him downstairs with a trolley containing money. He hides envelopes stuffed with paper in a hatch inside the lift. The next day his plan goes somewhat array when a bespectacled colleague has to accompany him; so "accidentally" trips him up and breaks his glasses. In the lift he swaps the envelopes in the trolley (which contain cash), for the envelopes in the hatch and stashes a backpack containing the money in the hatch. My memory of the film ends there.
