I do think this is ridiculous, especially given that The Martian won Best Comedy Film and Best Comedy Actor recently. I want there to be more representation for comedy films at the awards ceremonies, but since there's hardly any comedy films being released each year, let alone good ones, it does feel like a waste (not to mention there's even less musicals being released).

The Oscars themselves are redundant and elitist.

I struggle to understand why anyone watches/cares/gives them any credence whatsoever.
