In order to improve the accuracy of predictions, it might be valuable to narrow down TCI to specific genres, in addition to the general TCI?
I tend to watch mostly drama movies, but my taste in comedy can be quite different from others who enjoy the same dramas.
Or I may have a specific interest in certain documentaries, but they might not have a high PSI rating because fans of my favorite dramas may have different interests or preferences.
I think it would be possible to fine-tune recommendations in this way. Especially if one could choose some favorite genres, which Criticker could then calculate ongoing PSIs for (Wau! a new movie with high PSI has turned up on my Sci-fi list!).

An interesting idea. I could certainly imagine that this would create more specific and precise recommendations. Genre is just one of many attributes though, you could also use language, people, countries, decades, duration or keywords as a basis, or combinations thereof. Of course, it would probably increase the computational costs significantly if attribute-specific TCIs were created for each active user in addition to the general TCI.

This is a really interesting idea, and one we might look into -- but because of the computational costs mentioned in the comment, it's probably something we'd realistically only be able to offer to sponsors of the site.
But it's a great idea, and we'll make sure to jot it down!
