movie when i was a kid

The only scene i can remember is a bunch of people trapped in a house and there is a hole or something in there backyard. coming out of this hole are little pink creatures, and i think something calls there phone and completely freaks them out. Can anyone help me that's all I got and this has been bothering me for years it probably came out in the 80's or early 90's
