Looks like Nic Cage in Adaptation., although I don't remember any of those shots from the film.

Looks like Noah Emmerich (who is perpetually wearing shorts and drinking beer, in my mind), but I don't think I've seen this film.

That is definitely Noah Emmerich and with the clue about the supporting actress' eyebrows (Jennifer Connelly I assume) I'm going to guess "Little Children" 2006? If you had used the pool scenes from that film that would have given it away, assuming I am right, as that is all I remember from that movie.
