I'm sure I'm wrong but there was a scene similar to this in The Last Duel?
Also on C2A, as I say I liked it. It works best when it leans heavily on call backs to the first movie, but you can see everyone involved is having a blast and so while it doesn't measure up to the first, it was a satisfying fun companion piece to it. If you don't expect the world, you might have fun with it

Well that was quick, it is the Last Duel. The more I think about that movie, the more I love it. It's a shame that it seemed like it was mostly ignored by critics and the public, and Ridley's other movie that year (House of Gucci) got all the attention instead.
Yeah, I probably owe the original Coming to America a rewatch first, but I will definitely catch up with C2A one of these days!

Well I'm as surprised as you my guess was right!
As for the film I hated it! I knew nothing about it going in and watched it on Xmas day a year ago with my mother and estranged wife expecting that a film on D+ would be a fairly safe hack and slash medieval drama, but instead got a drawn out 3 hr rape scene (at least that's what it felt like watching it in that company) and to say that was awkward Xmas day viewing is an understatement

Something about the suit and the gesture makes me think De Niro in King of Comedy?

That it is.
