Lydia arrives at Dragonvale Academy, a school of magic, where she is supposed to meet her best friend, Celeste. However, Celeste is not waiting at their agreed meeting place. In fact the school at first seems to be empty, until Lydia finds Zak, a talking wolf who claims to be a dragon. Together they set out to investigate what happened to the students and teachers of the school.
