peak of the genre beat em up, everything about this game is neat

Short, sweet, stylish with fun and rewarding mechanics

I was having fun up until I hit the absolute brick wall of a difficulty spike that was the museum boss, who attacks seemingly endlessly from 10x as far as you can, can barely be punished for 1/30th of her life, and can instantly jump 100 ft away from you. After fighting her for a while, and being on the verge of just uninstalling because I didn't feel like trying to master the game mechanics two hours into the game, I instead lowered the difficulty to easy, and finished the game that way.

Definitely a game with style, but unfortunately I have started with easy mode and it was unnecessarily easy. I regret it now, but I don't want to turn back and play on normal mode.

Next to the soulsbornes and the occasional run n' gun à la cuphead, this is finally another game that expects nothing less than your commitment to its mechanics and hence building the skill needed to best it. 5 stages may seem short at first, but trust me, the way this unravels is more than enough to keep you hooked for weeks. TLDNR: it's fucking hard and it's fucking great! Edit: i'll detract 5 points for the absolutely abysmal true ending "fight". What a frustratingly pointless exercise.
