"Like the Tenkaichi games, but the "story mode" here is just a series of random battles and challenges. Which honestly isn't so bad of a change from retreading the anime's story for the umpteenth time."

"I've sunk more hours into this game than any other fighting game I've played, so the score gets a massive nostalgia boost. It perfectly captures the style of the show in a way no other game has and boasts loads of content, fanservice and a supermassive roster. Unfortunately it's too accurate to the show to a fault, which mean it's also ridiculously broken and horribly unbalanced. Ultimately your enjoyment of this game will depend upon your enjoyment of DBZ overall."

"The framework of a good game is here, but the execution is messy and falls flat. It pulls many ideas from different games but doesn't really understand how they work, and it's further hampered by severe performance issues and more glitches than EA's usual standard, and that's saying a lot. Even as far as Star Wars games go it can't hold a candle to the Jedi Knight series, KOTOR or even The Force Unleashed. Star Wars fanatics might get a kick out of it but anyone else can skip this one."
