Besides having broad appeal, the simultaneous-play mechanic is excellent. You don't have to sit around waiting for others' turns, and as such allows 7 players to play effectively.

Not outstanding but quick and easy enough to get people "not into boardgames" to the table. Also can be played with up to 7 people easily which is a big plus. Most games even if they can play 7 start weakening around 5 or 6.
