Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
In Grunty's Revenge, the evil witch Gruntilda travels back in time to prevent the events of Banjo-Kazooie from happening, and the bear Banjo and his bird friend Kazooie set out to stop her. Grunty's Revenge retains the focus on collecting items and most of the other game mechanics from its predecessors, but is presented in 2D rather than 3D. (wiki)

It's impressive in how well it emulates the N64 games, but aside from that it's a downgrade of a game that was never good to begin with. For one, depth perception is wack, causing you to make a lot of bad jumps because you couldn't properly judge platform height. The writing is lazy compared the N64 games. It has a lot of annoying, copy pasted mini-games. The levels manage to be more barebones and bland than the N64 games. A weird title given Rare's history, but easily skippable.
