The music doesn't pop, the attempt to make combat endlessly interesting just makes it unnecessarily wrong; I checked out of the game once I realized that after so long I dreaded fighting. Predictable plot, visuals are fine. Seems like nostalgia for nostalgia's sake, honestly. I know I've been mostly negative here but it's not an outright BAD game, it's just horribly uninspired in almost every way and not nearly as good as the SNES games it is influenced by.

The characters are shallow, the battle system is near instantly broken, completely lacking in atmosphere.
