Descent II

Given the graphics of the day, this game was a mind-blowing advance over the quasi-3D of "Doom," and launched a new type of virtual reality fascination. Neither particularly complex nor easy, it advanced the maze game to the point of becoming interesting, which made it less pointless than freespace games. It is easy to jump into and hard to get out of.
