Mmm it takes a special kind of something to have the first screen of your game harder than it has any right to be. Some of the worst controls you'll find on the NES.

Note that this is a review specifically for the NES Dragon's Lair, not the entirely different game that is the well-known arcade cabinet. That arcade game is an interesting mix of cartoon and game, incorporating Don Bluth animation and designs and essentially introducing what we now know as the "quick time event." This NES port is a stiff, ugly, boring unplayable sidescroller.
