F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point

Maybe it's because I've been away from F.E.A.R. for so long (and watched it lose what made it special), but I really dug this, even if it's not as scary as base game. It's hard as fuck to get running but once it does, you're treated to really satisfying gunplay with arguably the greatest shotgun in all of gaming. Always loved how it blended kinda bland environments with supernatural, and of course, the atmosphere is great.

One of those expansions where a different developer gets contracted in to tack on a few more levels of what's already there. It's brisker and often tougher, and dials the horror atmosphere way up (and the lighting way down). Atmosphere's where they really pulled things off best. Some variety in the level design was nice in a way, but some of the bigger open arena-like encounters don't really show this engine to best advantage.
