The plot of Fatal Fury centers around a martial arts tournament known as the "King of Fighters" tournament, held in the fictional American city of South Town and sponsored by local crime boss Geese Howard. Ten years prior to the events of the game, Geese murdered a rival martial artist named Jeff Bogard who was on his trail. Now, Jeff's adopted sons, Terry and Andy, along with their friend Joe Higashi, enter the tournament to get their revenge on Geese. (wiki)

I don't want to be too harsh on this game given that it was one of the earliest attempts at a fighter, but even at its release, you had better options. The game only gave you 3 characters, you had only two attack buttons, and movement felt sluggish as hell. It even lacks basic FG concepts such as combos or much of a neutral, it was mostly just haphazardly tossing out specials and normals and hoping they land. The boss gauntlet thing is a neat concept for fighters, but mechanically, this sucked.
