Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster

Although the gameplay is addictive, the game is very long and very childish. It should be played by children and those who have a lot of time, but I like adult stories.

My review's only for X until I get around to replaying X-2. Outside of some cringy writing/voice acting sometimes and me not liking party members having to be in the fight to get XP, this is a wonderful RPG, even today. The heaviness of death and religion looms over everything. I've always loved these characters, except for Tidus, who's not terrible but not great... his personality's a little annoying. Great battle system and sphere grid. Excellent music.

X-2 was never good, but Final Fantasy X was a fairly good game. Unfortunately, the remaster turns the major characters into emotionless doll in the cutscenes, no longer able to visually express the differences between fear, concern, determination, anger, and constipation.

I would rate the originals better, specially FFX would be a complete 100/100, anyway both remasters are bad as remasters. Anything that is not textures is wrong (face models are notoriously awful when compared to original PS2, and the lights and colours are all messed-up in some scenes). That said, if it's the only way you get to play it, it's better than not playing it. But if you get to play a PS2 (original or emulated in HD), please do that.

Final Fantasy X is very mediocre and has a terrible story, but X-2 is stupid fun with a few good moments.

My rating is the average of the score I'd give X (15/20) and X-2 (10/20).
