If enlightenment means subscribing to the idea that if you stand for something then you stand against something else and as such war is inevitable. Then this is the most enlightened game I've ever played. The issue (8/10) arises with how the protagonist despises that message for most of this game, very nearly turning this into yet another JRPG-type tale of ideals trumping reality. The Chachamaru arc (and ending) is my favourite because the protagonist becomes enlightened - Jed Mckenna style.
