Halo 5: Guardians

The worst game of the Halo franchise. The campaign is a complete mess. The old characters are props, the new characters cardboard cutouts, and the story laughably stupid. The multiplayer introduces micro-transactions which affect gameplay. Even without the aforementioned problems, the gameplay isn't refined enough to stand by itself. 60 fps on console is great but the graphics leave everything looking like a blur of over-saturated colors and Abrams-level lens flares.

Halo fans are enraged. They hate 343 now. They hate whatshisface who wrote this campaign. Whatever. You know what I'm grateful for? A return to exploring new worlds, new environments, new ideas, some fascinating characters, some goddamn color. Despite the actual content of the campaign, this wasn't a drab slog like Halo 4 was. Multiplayer is still uninteresting, though. Warzone is okay.
