There's a lot I dig about Hexen but I feel the combat encounters are way too canned. The game tends to fill rooms with mindless damage sponge melee enemies or projectile enemies that are easy to cheese through corridors that just made me feel numb after awhile. There's occasionally some decent combat encounters, but the obtuse level design and lame encounters made this hard to get through. However, there are really cool aesthetic choices and level gimmicks so it's not all bad.
