Charming features from earlier (like being able to set up multiple dance cards for local multiplayer, or setting up your own custom playlists) have been ditched for "story mode" and online multiplayer. The core mechanic is the same, and still fun exercise. Redoing the game in Unity has allowed Ubisoft to implement a Cirque du Soleil "but cheap" aesthetic, but a bunch (but not all) of the old songs are available on the subscription service.
