The game itself is pretty fun with plenty of challenging race types, cars to collect and the online community is still there even today. I powered through the story. Its just not good. It doesnt hit the heights of the old NFS games but its the most fun I have had in one for a while. Plat difficulty - 5/10 - not tough but just a bit of a grind with some of the more tougher challenges.

Powered through this one by virtue of its genuinely fun arcade-style driving model and the allowances it made for my fantasy of slowly upgrading, in a ship-of-Theseus fashion, an unassuming car until it demolishes luxury sports models, but it's difficult to defend its scattershot open-world design, unclear UI and highly muddled gesturing at a socially conscious narrative unnecessarily justifying NFS's heretofore self-evident animosity for law enforcement.
