Some things in this game were a bit odd, such as the giant characters and the balance was off (typical of a vs game) but this game perfected the vs formula by not having the braindead comboing and dumb mechanics as seen in MVC3 and not being as overly broken as what MVC2 was. It also did some neat things such as introduce the baroque mechanic, which is a far more dynamic and interesting mechanic than MVC3's dumpster fire X-Factor.
